Rooms and comfort

Rooms are clean, cosy and sensibly fitted for mountain conditions, with reliable hot water — something you learn to appreciate quickly at altitude. The terrace and rooftop look out across the surrounding peaks and the pine-covered Marsyangdi valley, making the guest house a good choice for an acclimatisation day rather than just an overnight stop. Guests regularly write that they planned two nights and stayed four.

The restaurant

The dining room is the heart of the place — warm, wood-fitted, and busy with conversation between trekkers from a dozen countries. The kitchen turns out home-cooked Nepali and trekker-friendly food: dal bhat, momo, fried rice and noodles, soups, pancakes, eggs, and endless hot tea and coffee. Portions are generous, prices are fair for the altitude, and the food is consistently praised as some of the best on the Circuit. Breakfast and dinner are served for guests, and passing trekkers and riders are welcome to stop in for a meal.

Getting there and booking

Chame is reached by jeep or motorbike from Besisahar, or on foot as a standard stage of the Annapurna Circuit trek. The guest house sits inside the main village, within walking distance of the shops, the ACAP checkpoint and the hot springs.
